This Weekend in LA : Halloween Edition

Dia de Los Muertos: The vibrant Mexican tradition is celebrated with dancers, food and craft vendors, a lively procession and more than 100 elaborately decorated altars. Live music is provided as well. Noon-midnight. $10. Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Have a relaxing brunch by the beach and enjoy the perfect California weather at Back On The Beach, my favorite weekend breakfast, brunch or lunch place. Reasonable prices and enjoy the sunshine outside by the waves. Then head over to The Grove and catch an afternoon matinee movie. Finish off the day by having dinner at Wood Ranch BBQ across the street. The atmosphere, service and portions are amazing.

West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnival: Santa Monica Boulevard shuts down from La Cienega to Robertson to accommodate thousands of Halloween revelers in their most eccentric costume creations. Live entertainment, food vendors, pumpkin-carving contests and children’s activities fill the week leading up to the event. 6–11 pm.  FREE. More info.

Universal Studios: Hollywood Horror Nights at Universal is always amazing. Think about it. All the scary movies Universal has made, all the awesome makeup and props you can imagine! They bring Walking Dead and Silent Hill to life. $41-$66 Get your tickets.
